Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: February 14, 2026

Refine Mortgage Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website, loan officer microsites, and digital services are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We strive to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Our Commitment

Refine Mortgage Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website, loan officer microsites, and digital services are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about homeownership and mortgage financing. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform and welcome feedback from users on how we can better serve their needs.

Perceivable

  • Text alternatives are provided for all non-text content, including images, icons, and graphics
  • Captions and transcripts are available for video and audio content where applicable
  • Content can be presented in different ways without losing information or structure
  • Sufficient color contrast is maintained between text and backgrounds (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Operable

  • All functionality is available from a keyboard without requiring a mouse
  • No content is designed in a way that is known to cause seizures or physical reactions
  • Users have enough time to read and use content (no auto-refreshing without user control)
  • Navigation is consistent across pages and includes skip links to main content
  • Page titles, headings, and labels describe topic or purpose clearly

Understandable

  • Content is readable and understandable using clear, plain language
  • Navigation and functionality operate in predictable ways across the site
  • Form inputs have associated labels and clear error messages
  • Helpful instructions and context are provided for complex interactions
  • Legal and financial terms are explained where necessary

Robust

Our platform is designed to work with current and future assistive technologies. We use semantic HTML, valid markup, and ARIA attributes where appropriate to ensure compatibility with screen readers, magnification software, voice recognition tools, and alternative input devices. We regularly test our platform with various assistive technologies to identify and resolve compatibility issues.

Specific Accommodations

  • Semantic HTML: Proper use of heading hierarchy (H1-H6), landmark regions, and list structures
  • ARIA Labels: Descriptive labels for interactive elements, status messages, and dynamic content
  • Skip Navigation: Links to skip to main content available on all pages for keyboard users
  • Alternative Text: Meaningful alt text for all informative images; decorative images marked appropriately
  • Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels, error messages, and helpful validation
  • Focus Indicators: Visible focus states for all interactive elements using high-contrast outlines
  • Responsive Zoom: Content remains functional and readable when zoomed to 200%
  • Color Independence: Information is never conveyed by color alone; patterns and labels supplement color coding

Known Limitations

  • Third-Party Embedded Content: Some third-party services integrated into our platform (such as eSign providers, Arive loan origination system, or external widgets) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We work with these providers to encourage accessibility improvements.
  • PDF Documents: Some downloadable PDF documents, particularly older forms or third-party disclosures, may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these documents and can provide alternative formats upon request.
  • User-Generated Content: Content uploaded by individual loan officers to their microsites may vary in accessibility. We provide guidelines and tools to help loan officers create accessible content.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

  • We test and support the following assistive technologies:
  • Screen Readers: JAWS (Windows), NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Voice Recognition: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Windows Speech Recognition, macOS Dictation
  • Alternative Input: Switch controls, eye tracking, head tracking, on-screen keyboards
  • Browser Extensions: Accessibility toolbars, color contrast analyzers, readability enhancers
  • If you use assistive technology not listed here and experience difficulties, please contact us so we can investigate and improve compatibility.
